Type C eccentric, internal

Type C eccentric external circlip (designations 10 to 120)JIS B 2804:2010 Table 16The most common retaining ring, sprung open from the outside into a groove cut round the shaft. The ring width varies round the circumference (eccentric), so the ring follows the shaft even while it is open. The groove dimensions for the applicable shaft are on the same page.Type C eccentric internal circlip (designations 10 to 125)JIS B 2804:2010 Table 17A retaining ring squeezed from the inside into a groove cut round the bore. The symbols are the same as for the shaft type, but the groove is cut on the larger side of the bore. The groove dimensions for the applicable bore are on the same page.Type C concentric external circlip (designations 20 to 200)JIS B 2804:2010 Table 18A shaft ring whose ring width is constant (concentric) and which has no lug holes. It reaches larger designations than the eccentric type. The groove dimensions for the applicable shaft are on the same page.Type C concentric internal circlip (designations 20 to 200)JIS B 2804:2010 Table 19A bore ring whose ring width is constant (concentric). The groove dimensions for the applicable bore are on the same page.Type E retaining ring (designations 0.8 to 24)JIS B 2804:2010 Table 20A ring for small diameters, pushed onto the shaft from the side. The designation follows the groove diameter, and the shaft diameters it suits are given as ranges (over / up to).Grip ring (designations 2 to 10)JIS B 2804:2010 Table 21A ring that grips the shaft without any groove being cut. In place of groove dimensions, the standard gives the axial load it can hold.

Type C eccentric internal circlip and bore groove dimensions

The inside and outside diameters have different centres (eccentric). This ring is used in a grooved bore. It is squeezed from the inside and released into a groove cut round the bore, so the groove diameter d2 is larger than the bore diameter d1.
