SGP (carbon steel pipe for ordinary piping)JIS G 3452低圧の水・空気・蒸気・ガスの配管に使います。最も一般的で入手しやすく、迷ったときの出発点になります。STPG (carbon steel pipe for pressure service)ISO 9329-1 (JIS G 3454)350℃以下の圧力配管に使います。SGP では圧力が不足する場合に選びます。STS (carbon steel pipe for high-pressure service)ISO 9329-2 (JIS G 3455)350℃以下で、STPG でも圧力が不足する高圧配管に使います。STPT (carbon steel pipe for high-temperature service)ISO 9329-2 (JIS G 3456)350℃を超える高温の配管に使います。STPL (steel pipe for low-temperature service)ISO 9329-3 (JIS G 3460)氷点下の低温になる配管に使います。低温での脆性破壊を避けたい場合に選びます。STPA (alloy steel pipe for piping)ISO 9329-2 (JIS G 3458)高温かつ高圧の配管に使います。モリブデン鋼などの合金鋼です。STPY (arc-welded carbon steel pipe for piping)JIS G 3457大径の低圧配管に使います。アーク溶接で製造されます。STK (carbon steel tube for general structures)JIS G 3444架台・足場・鉄塔など、一般的な構造部材に使います。構造用で迷ったときの出発点になります。STKM (carbon steel tube for machine structures)JIS G 3445機械部品やシャフトなど、寸法精度と強度が要る部材に使います。STKN (carbon steel tube for building structures)JIS G 3475建築物の柱など、耐震設計を伴う建築構造部材に使います。STB (carbon steel tube for boilers and heat exchangers)ISO 9329-2 (JIS G 3461)ボイラや熱交換器の伝熱管に使います。TF (steel tube for fired heaters)JIS G 3467石油精製などの加熱炉で、炉内の管として使います。

SUS-TP (stainless steel pipe for piping)ISO 9330-6 (JIS G 3459)耐食性や耐熱性が要る配管に使います。ステンレス配管の基本となる規格です。SUS-TPD (stainless steel pipe for ordinary piping)JIS G 3448給水・給湯・排水の配管に使います。SUS_TP より薄肉で軽量です。SUS-TPY (large-diameter welded stainless steel pipe)ISO 9330-6 (JIS G 3468)大径のステンレス配管に使います。溶接で製造されます。SUS-A (stainless steel for building structures)JIS G 4321建築構造部材で、耐食性も求められる場合に使います。
