Updraft

Parallel key, one round end, tapped — From tangential force

Use this when the force on the key is known. From the width, the key length, the tapped-hole diameter, and the shear force it finds the area in shear and the shear stress. The shaft diameter and the torque are not needed. A parallel key with one round end loses effective length at the rounded end.
