Parallel key, both ends round, tapped and counterbored — From torque
Use this when the torque on the shaft is known. From the width, the key length, the shaft diameter, the tapped-hole diameter, the number of counterbores, the counterbore diameter, and the torque it finds the area in shear, the shear force and the shear stress. A parallel key with both ends round loses effective length at each rounded end.
