Notes

  • The line rate is worked out for square pixels — resolution along the travel direction equal to resolution across the width — from F=VR\displaystyle F = \frac{V}{R}. Where the travel direction may be coarser, a lower rate will do.
  • The line period sets the upper limit on the camera's exposure time.
  • Conveyor speed varies, so on a real machine it is better to lock the line rate to an incremental encoder and trigger the camera externally.
