- The line rate is worked out for square pixels — resolution along the travel direction equal to resolution across the width — from . Where the travel direction may be coarser, a lower rate will do.
- The line period sets the upper limit on the camera's exposure time.
- Conveyor speed varies, so on a real machine it is better to lock the line rate to an incremental encoder and trigger the camera externally.
